Terms of Use
Librona ("we", "us") runs this service. By creating an account or using Librona, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
What Librona is
Librona is a free reading tracker for your personal use. It lets you keep a shelf of books, track your progress and reading sessions, and see that shelf on any device you sign in from.
Your account
- Use a real email address you can access, and keep your password private.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has access to it, change your password and contact us.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Librona, or at least 16 in the European Union and the United Kingdom.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- store or share anything illegal through Librona;
- use Librona to harass, threaten, or harm anyone;
- try to access another person's account or data, or get around the security that keeps libraries private;
- scrape, overload, or attack the service, or use bots or scripts to access it in bulk;
- interfere with the service or with the providers it runs on.
Your content stays yours
The books, notes, ratings, moods, and reading history you add belong to you. You give us only the permission needed to store your content and show it back to you in Librona. We do not use it for anything else. Our Privacy Policy explains how it is handled.
Book details and covers
Book details on your shelf come from you, either typed in or imported from your own files. Cover images are loaded from Open Library or from links in files you import. Titles, cover art, and other book information belong to their respective owners, and Librona shows them only for your personal use.
Provided "as is"
Librona is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it running and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free, or free of data loss. Please keep your own backup: you can export your library as a CSV or Excel file from Settings at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Librona will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Suspending accounts
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to export your library.
Changes to Librona and these terms
We may change, pause, or stop Librona at any time. If we plan to shut it down, we will try to give reasonable notice so you can export your library. We may also update these terms. When we do, we will change the effective date above, and if a change is significant we will make it clear in the app. Continuing to use Librona after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws that apply to the operator of Librona, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in them limits rights you have under the consumer laws of the place where you live.
